My story from TODAY about the 2nd amendment
Today I was pulled over while working (I drive around for a living) and was at a horse park meeting a client. The reason the officer stated that the reason he pulled me over was
"There have been drug deals happening here at the park and you are from the city we believe the dealers are coming from." (continue on below)
I couldn't believe it that I was being pulled over because of what "city" I was from. I had promply informed the officer that I had a handgun in the car and he promptly had me get out of the car and I eventually got a pat down (because I had had a gun) and he said that I had the handgun concealed by their definition and even if I had it where it would be a legal open carry weapon (on my hip) they could still take my gun because they could classify on my hip as "concealed."
The officers (both of them) were extremely nice and let me keep my gun, but warned by the book they should take my gun.
The problem is they searched my car (with my permission) due to me having a gun because I was from a particular city. This is all clear violations of the constitution and then he straight up told me he had the authority to take my gun even though I had done everything legal!
The federal government should protect us from these types of laws, but instead are making them even easier for local and state governments to take our guns.
I'm not mad at the officers just the people who gave them that much authority.
The next question is should an officer stand for the constitution even when it would go against his job?
I think so, but that is another post.
