Gun Rights (2nd Amendment)
This is possibly one of the easiest issues and should be cut and dry. Any American should have the right to purchase and have a handgun with NO TRACKING AT ALL. Also we should be able to take a gun into a bank, store, bar, school, etc.
Now if you abuse that right and commit a crime with a gun you should lose that right (but if our judicial system was right you would probably be in jail for so long that you didn't have the chance to ever get another gun.)
Once again in a vaccum sounds like a terrible idea, but then does it?
(continue on below)
I cannot take a gun into a bank and since I am a law abiding citizen I do not, but the bank robber who obviously isn't a law abiding citizen brings a gun in anyways does have a gun. I don't have any way to keep me safe and from being a hostage.
The law did nothing to stop the unlawful the laws on guns only hurt the law abiding citizens. Replay the scenario if everyone including tellers had guns
Gunman walks in says he is robbing the place and everyone is a hostage and the other 20 people in the bank have guns and he is down before he even realizes what happened.
If everyone had guns (or possibly could have a gun) crime would be way way less because everyone would assume that you had a gun. Look at Texas if you want proof of that.
I don't need to look at the numbers or show you the numbers, because even if it didn't work it would be what is right under the constitution.
Lets ask the first question
1. Does this law or action infringe on the inalienable rights given by God and stated in our Declaration of Independence?
The Government making laws against us being able to protect our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness would be violated. Case closed.
Beyond that the 2nd Amendment gives us the right to keep arms. The reason this amendment was written was specifically because the Founding Fathers wanted the people of the country to defend themselves against an over controlling government like they did against British rule.
Even if you don't like guns or own a gun I would fight and die for your right to have a gun to protect yourself
I also would recommend that you own a gun while we still do have the right.
