Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration is one of the biggest problems that has an impact on nearly every aspect of our country. I will list several crazy facts about illegals that may shock you and show how it hurts our entire country.
22% of all sex crimes are committed by illegals
"In October 2008, the illegal immigrant population stood at 11.9 million according to the Pew Hispanic Center."
"There are approximately 7.7 million illegal aliens employed in U.S. jobs in 2008."
(continue on below)
"Amnesty for illegal immigrants will cause costs to increase significantly from $10.4 billion a year to $28.8 billion. This is because an amnesty program would transform an illegal immigrant to an
"unskilled immigrant with legal status" who could access various government programs. However, due to low income, these "unskilled immigrants with legal status" would likely make very modest tax payments
" Illegal immigrants collectively represent a group that is a significant menace to the public. 80% have committed serious crimes in addition to immigration violations, and 40% have violent crime histories."
Crime would drop significantly if we would solve the illegal immigration problem, it would release up to 7.7 million jobs for Americans. It would also cost the government more in welfare and other government programs. Plus they have caught terrorist coming through the southern border. Iran has "lost" several missiles and one was found near our southern border.
Illegal immigration is a huge national security risk, crime risk, and economic woe. It needs to be dealt with swiftly and thoroughly.
My solution to start with would be to secure the border with a fence, troops, drones, and all other types of technology. Follow that up by enforcing the current laws in place and allow states to crack down even further if they see fit.
When an illegal comes in contact with a government agency and it can be proven that they are illegal they should be deported. Plain and simple. With the border secure they will not be able to get back in so easy.
Follow those steps up with a fix of our legal immigration system to allow the skilled workers who can actually speak english and pay taxes we would have a huge economic boom.
This isn't a complicated issue it is just a complicated issue to resolve due to issues like "anchor babies." According to our constitution if a person is born in the United States they are considered an American citizen, Illegals run over the border have a baby and then they are "anchored" to the United States by their legal american citizen child. America will not deport one of our own and then the parents get to stay.
I believe from what I have read in the 14th Amendment to the constitution (dealing with being a citizen by birth) dealt with legal parents have their children in the United States would not have to go through the whole process of getting their child legal, but should not apply to law breakers. I believe there needs to be clarification and the child should be deported back with their parents or be given up for adoption or some kind of solution like that. Principle before details!
Any president of ours needs to stand strong against illegal immigration. The current laws appear to be adequate and legal according to the Constitution. They just need to be enforced.
